[edit] What about his penchant for ear rings?

One fondly recollects Mr Blofeld's fascination with ear rings in the subcontinent and Sharjah, in the early 90's, as a television commentator. He was very popular in India and had a huge fan following with Indian cricket lovers. Hope someone could elaborate on this aspect of his career.
