Szopen asked: Is pospolite ruszenie levee en masse?

May be, I will do more research on this and add the wiki entry soon. Bascially king could call for 'pospolite ruszenie' (with Sejm approval) and all nobles from a given region had to gather personally with weapons etc. to form a local defense army.

In other news - we made the 'Did you know...' main page wiki section today :)

Piotrus, i know what's pospolite ruszenie (being Pole et al) but i don't know whether it could be translated or at least with explanation added in parantheses, so English reader would not be confused Szopen 06:42, 29 Apr 2004 (UTC)
