The last paragraph read:

Lammens concluded that the outcome of the meeting of Saqifah came about as the result of a conspiracy woven by Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman, who, in the Saqifah of the Banu Sa`idah, had agreed to seize the caliphate and succeed one another. ref

Well, i view it significant, it is an unorthodox stance, and it gives an idea of what kind of person Henri was. --Striver 09:41, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

I seem to recall reading in Encyclopedia of Islam that he believed there was troika made up of Abu Bakr, Omar, and Abu Ubaydah (not Uthman) - all the more reason for the author to provide a reference. Slackerlawstudent 22:16, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
