After much Google searching, there seem to be no easily accessible photos of Smyth in the public domain. This image, whose copyright seems to be claimed by the American Philosophical Society (taken from [1]), used for educational purposes on the English-language Wikipedia should be "fair use" in an article about Smyth.

This work is copyrighted and unlicensed. It does not fall into one of the blanket fair use categories listed at Wikipedia:Fair use#Images or Wikipedia:Fair use#Audio_clips. However, it is believed that the use of this work in the article "Henry DeWolf Smyth":
