Henry_DeWolf_Smyth.jpg (302 × 388 pixel, file size: 52 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

Image of physicist Henry DeWolf Smyth.

After much Google searching, there seem to be no easily accessible photos of Smyth in the public domain. This image, whose copyright seems to be claimed by the American Philosophical Society (taken from [1]), used for educational purposes on the English-language Wikipedia should be "fair use" in an article about Smyth.
