Henry LXXII, Prince of Reuss-Lobenstein-Ebersdorf

Heinrich LXXII, Fürst Reuss zu Schleiz (b. 1797; d. 1853) was count of Reuss-Lobenstein from 7 May 1824 until his abdication on 1 October 1848; and count of Reuss-Ebersdorf 1822 to 1848. He holds the current Guinness World Record for the largest reign numer of a monarch. In his abdication he wrote: Ich lege kraft dieses, zum Besten Meines verfassungsmäßigen Nachfolgers, Ihro des regierenden Fürsten von Schleiz Durchlaucht und Liebden, die Regierung nieder, which translates as: "I am abdicating from my offices, to benefit my successor the Serene Highness Prince von Schleiz."
