She changed her name to "Modjeski" and that is the name that she and her son Ralph are best-known by. Nobody outside of Polish circles calls them "Modrzejewska", from what I can see. Shouldn't the main article be under "Modjeski?" Willmcw 02:16, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)


Should this article be listed under Helena Modrzejewska or as it is now, Modjeska? I think it should be under Modrzejewska, since this is her original Polish last name, not some simplified American version.

I disagree. The subject changed her name. We list other people who gain famed outside of Poland under their profesional names, not their orginal names (or married names, as in this case). See Pola Negri, Leopold Stokowski, Billy Wilder. "Madame Modjeska" is the name by which she is most famous in the English-speaking world, and this is the English-language version. -Will Beback 08:55, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
