Helvete

Helvete was the record store owned by the late Øystein Aarseth (Euryonomus), guitarist for the black metal band Mayhem. Helvete is Norwegian for hell. The record store was located in Schweigaards gate 56 from 1991. It was an important gathering place for Norwegian black metal musicians, and Euronymous also founded his Deathlike Silence Productions in its basement, releasing some of the most important Norwegian black metal recordings. In 1993 it was closed only months before his murder commited by Varg Vikernes from Burzum.
