Helpful worm

Helpful worms are worms that help to patch against and remove other worms. An example of a Helpful worm is Welchia. Also called anti-worms.

Many of these have the following shortcomings:

  • They cannot be controlled.
  • They do not limit the speed at which they spread.
  • They, when necessary, auto-reboot without the permission of the user.
  • They don't log events indicating what they have done.
  • They may run a server on the infected system.
