The Hello Kitty Stratocaster is an original series of Stratocaster electric guitar made by Squier. It is available in either pink or black and is equipped with a custom pickguard in the shape of Hello Kitty's head.
The guitar is equipped with a single humbucker pickup in the bridge position, a maple neck and an Agathis body. It has only one knob, which is to control the volume. It has been in production since January 2006.
Unlike a majority of the Hello Kitty brand products sold, the guitar is not marketed at the very young female demographic, but rather teenage girls. The guitar has not picked up very much popularity except as a novelty, due to its inferior quality when compared with the Fender Stratocaster. Currently, the only notable uses of Hello Kitty Stratocasters have been by Lisa Loeb, Courtney Love, and her daughter.
