[edit] Foreign Language Department
Four foreign languages are taught at Helena High: French, German, Latin, and Spanish. Lance Dyrdahl is the Latin teacher. Spanish is taught by Sarah Van Stry, Linda Ringwald, Julie Pederson, and Danna Sinnott. Susan Bartels and Jane Mends both teach French, and Toni Person is the sole German teacher.

The science faculty at Helena High School consists of Doug Shenkle, Mike Smith, Jan Hill, Jim Schulz, Jay Veneziano, Dave Thennis, Missy Sampson, Julie Beaver, Rod Benson, Gerald McCarthy, and Sandy Wardell.

The debate team also includes Audrey Dufrechou, a two-time state champion and national qualifier, Tiphani Lynn, a state champion, Lindsay Johnson, a national qualifier, and Sean Dennison and Pat McCue, also national qualifiers. This year marks the sixth consecutive year the team has qualified debaters for the national tournaments.
