Helen Southworth

Helen Mary Southworth (born 13 November 1956, Preston) is a politician in the United Kingdom.
She is the Labour Party Member of Parliament for Warrington South, and was first elected in 1997. She had previously been a director of Age Concern. She is currently a member of the House of Commons select committee on Culture, Media and Sport, which will oversee the implementation of the London 2012 bid. She retained the seat of Warrington South in 2001 and in 2005 with reduced majorities. She is of Irish Catholic extraction (Southworth is her husband's surname) and was educated at the now defunct Larkhill Convent school.
