The name of Helen Liang Memorial Secondary School was first implemented in 1977 by Mr. Liang Chang (梁昌), a Hong Kong businessman, for the sake of memorising his decease wife, Mrs. Helen Liang(梁文燕). Helen Liang Memorial Secondary School is originally a government school in Sheung Wan on Hong Kong Island, which moved to Tai Wai, Sha Tin in September, 1988, formally renamed as Helen Liang Memorial Secondary School (Shatin) .

Helen Liang Memorial Secondary School (Shatin) is committed to finding out each students' potential fully, to helping them get an unbiased education that takes into contemplation students' moral, academic, physical, social and aesthetic needs.

Helen Liang Memorial Secondary School (Shatin) locates on a mound in Sha Tin, embraced by a verdant environment. Inside the school stands the outdoor theatre and curved flower path which is peculiar in Hong Kong.

28 standard classroom with air-conditioning system, including laboratories, computer rooms, multi-media learning centre, literature centers. There are also a hall, library, all-weather playground with a digital display board and basketball court inside the campus.
