Hector Hughes

Hector Samuel James Hughes (1887 – 23 June 1970) was a Scottish Labour Party politician.
In the Labour landslide at the 1945 general election, he was elected as Member of Parliament for Aberdeen North. He held the saet through six further general elections, before retiring from the House of Commons at the 1970 general election.
He died aged 83, only only five days after the 1970 election returned the Conservative Party to power.
