Heckler & Koch HK11

The HK11 is an adaptable light machine gun, with a firing rate of 900 rounds per minute, made by German gun manufacturing company Heckler & Koch. It can accept three kinds of ammunition - a NATO 5.56 mm round, a NATO 7.62 mm round, and a Soviet 7.62 mm round.

The HK 11A1 is a delay blowback operated, closed-bolt firing, heavy-barreled, air-cooled, light machine gun capable of semi-automatic and fully automatic fire.It uses the same 20-round box magazine as the G3 rifle.

Barrel changing is quick and simple. The weapon is easily field-stripped and completely disassembled into its components without tools.The lightweight bipod, which provides increased stability to the weapon for prone fire, can be attached and removed in an instant.The roller-delayed blowback action and the recoil-buffer unit contribute to accuracy with extremely low felt recoil and minimum muzzle climb, especially in fully automatic fire.The cold-hammered barrel is made of special high-strength steel and its chamber and bore are chrome-plated for long service life.All other metal components are also made of special steel while the grip and the stock are made of high-strength plastic.Simplicity of operation and maintenance, high accuracy and reliability, versatility and ease of carriage make this weapon ideal for the armed forces.The sighting system includes a drum-type rearsight with an aperture which is adjustable for windage and elevation.A telescopic or night sight may easily be fitted. The HK 11A 1 light machine gun is a lightweight yet rugged weapon capable of delivering a larger volume of sustained fire up to the maximum effective range of 1200 m with high accuracy and reliability. It is supplied with a carrying sling and a complete field-service kit.
