From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hebbal is an area of Bangalore, India which was once indicative of the North Most point of the city. Though originally famous for Hebbal lake, it is now better known for the serpentine maze of flyovers that network the Outer Ring Road and Bellary Road. The flyover spanning a length of 6.25 kilometers over all the loops combined, is the longest fly over in India. The lake is well known for the park, the boating facility and for the bird watching opportunities. Hebbal hosts companies like Astra Zeneca, Integra Micro Software Services and MRO Tech. Kirloskar is building a huge complex and it is most likely that many IT companies are going to move towards Hebbal. Philips Software has already made the move to its Hebbal office along the Outer Ring Road.
Hebbal used to be the end of the Bangalore city limits. One can still see the milestone between the Baptist hospital and checkpost, but Bangalore has grown quite a bit towards the north.
Nowadays it is also a hot bed of activity for real estate. Several prominent builders inlcuding Purvankara, Sterling, and Godrej have their projects in this area.
