[edit] Idea Regarding Unassessed Articles

Hi, Heaven's Wrath :) I'm sure you're aware that we have a backlog of over 2000 articles that are tagged for the Musicians WikiProject. I've been working all month to assess them, but I've only managed to do about 600 in that time. Though this category will probably never be completely empty, I was hoping we could at least get the number of articles under control. I propose a day or possibly a week dedicated to fighting this backlog. I would really appreciate feedback on this idea. Happy Holidays, Thereen 03:35, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

I think that is a great idea! As more people have began tagging articles with the Musicians parameter, the backlog has grown very large. It seems like a good task to start off the new year. We could definitely set up a Week of Assessment. Since January 1 is a holiday (and many people might be away from their computers), we could aim for the week of the eighth. (That way we could try to organize a WP:WPBIO-wide assessment drive. – Heaven's Wrath   Talk  21:39, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
Perfect! I like the idea of including the biography project. Should we just drop a message on their talk page or do you know of a more efficient way to handle it? As for the members of our project, should we put a message directly on the our Project Page, and if so, when? Thereen 02:56, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
Let's first see if WP:BIOGRAPHY wants to join in. I just left a message over on its discussion page. (direct link). If you want to add anything or add some support, let's continue the discussion over there for now.
For the Musicians project, we can add a simple message to the {{WikiProject Musicians header}} template. Once we decide on a time, I can do that. – Heaven's Wrath   Talk  04:07, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
When shall we begin? Thereen 03:35, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Hopefully, soon. Do you have a specific time you want to start? We probably have enough time to spread the word for a January 14-20 week. It does not seem like too many people noticed the idea on WP:BIOGRAPHY, but let's try it with only Musicians. Once we decide on a time, we could put together some directions on a subpage and then spam some of the members talk pages. I will also put up a banner on the project's header. – Heaven's Wrath   Talk  03:40, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
The week of the 14th to the 20th sounds ideal, some of our highschool members (myself included) will have exams coming at the end of the month so we don't want to leave it longer than that if possible. Thereen 03:51, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Esperanza Calendar

I see you left a note at the top of Wikipedia:Esperanza/Calendar that it is being moved to Wikipedia:Calendar. What's the basis for that and how is it planned? Need a hand? What's the thinking? Steve block Talk 18:39, 1 January 2007 (UTC) Ah, I see, it's to do with the Wikipedia talk:Birthday Committee. Fair enough, that was the thinking at mfd too, I'll have a go at the moving after dinner. Steve block Talk 18:42, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

I was planning on just taking out "Esperanza" from ever page. (i.e. Wikipedia:Esperanza/Calendar/January/1 → Wikipedia:Calendar/January/1) If you want to help me with the page moves, that would be fine. I will work on the actual page Wikipedia:Calendar, so no worries there. I just wanted to move most of the days before I set up a page there. – Heaven's Wrath   Talk  18:48, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
I still would prefer Wikipedia:Calendar. That way it would seem more open. It would even give it room to expand. (More: Wikipedia talk:Birthday Committee#Esperanza) – Heaven's Wrath   Talk  22:00, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
I don't think there's any issue with expanding its scope, we're basically placing it under the Birthday Committee's stewardship, but it was felt that it would have too broad a remit in the Wikipedia space without some sort of guiding hand overseeing its direction. Bear in mind that certain dates could become the subject of POV pushing, national days and the like, and if the calendar was kept in the open it would be harder to point to an established framework which governed what dates would be added. Apologies once again. Steve block Talk 22:24, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
We might have to wait for the results of the BDC's own MfD before continuing. – Heaven's Wrath   Talk  05:54, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Title

How do you describe your leadership role in WP Musicians? TonyTheTiger 17:23, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

I ask because I have become the leader/administrator for The Chicago Collaboration. I am trying to determine how to describe myself. Right now I say something like de facto administrator. TonyTheTiger 17:26, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
I would just say "Project Coordinator." – Heaven's Wrath   Talk  20:39, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Music Guide TfD

Thanks for the heads up. I have no idea how that slipped through the cracks. Apparently, I never followed through with my own closing... Anyway, thanks. Best regards, RyanGerbil10(Упражнение В!) 20:55, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Two things :)

Thanks for wishing me a happy birthday! I noticed you have a userbox on your userpage that has been deleted – I was thinking maybe you want it removed (the esperanza one). EdGl 14:08, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

I was planning on replacing it with a new one, I was just going to leave that there until I found one I wanted. I'll find something else soon. – Heaven's Wrath   Talk  23:32, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Your use of the Red Cross Flag as a sign for Life Guard is not permitted by International Law under The Geneva Conventions. You may wish to change to another picture or use a different cross logo (as long as it is not Red Cross on white background)

[edit] Cleanup Taskforce

Would you be interested in working on Wikipedia:Cleanup Taskforce/British hip hop? (I'm not sure it is quite within your indicated areas on interest but you might like it). Let me know, please, I'm looking for someone to assign it to. RJFJR 22:31, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

I do not know too much about the subject, but I could give it a shot. – Heaven's Wrath   Talk  22:44, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
British hip hop is now on your desk. RJFJR 14:19, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Hi:

Thanks for making my foray into Wiki-land pleasant!

No, not saying that they're one necessarily influenced another, just that there should be some type of link, because of the way they play.

If you look at Stanley Jordan's page, there's extensive references to other types of unconventional guitar players, and not an explicit mention of one influencing another.

Just thought a cross-reference would be a good idea.

Peace,

Abe

[edit] League of Copyeditors

Dear Cleanup Taskforce member,

I noticed that you've listed yourself as a member who's interested in copy-editing. I'm a member of the League of Copyeditors, a project dedicated to managing the sizable backlog of articles needing a copy-edit. We're always looking for new members, and you'd make a great addition to the project! We've started a participation drive for the remainder of February. If you're interested, you can help clear the backlog by adopting the following goals each week:

Thanks, and happy editing! BuddingJournalist 07:42, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject: Biography Assessment Drive

Hi. You had commented in January about the need to clear some of the backlog on WP:Bio assessments. I wanted to let you know that we have created an assessment drive, and we'd love to have you help out if you get the chance.Mocko13 02:24, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Helping out with the Unassessed Wikipedia Biographies

Seeing that you are an active member of the WikiBiography Project, I was wondering if you would help lend a hand in helping us clear out the amount of unassessed articles tagged with {{WPBiography}}. Many of them are of stub and start class, but a few are of B or A caliber. Getting a simple assessment rating can help us start moving many of these biographies to a higher quality article. Thank you! --Ozgod 20:44, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
