I am an artist with some experience in Japan, having lived in Osaka and Tokyo for a number of years. In college I wrote my honors thesis on Tanizaki and recently reread the Makioka sisters, prompting me to search out more information on it as a trip down memory lane and, ultimately, to add to the Tanizaki entry: my first writing on him in many years.
