[edit] False Shuar heads

I saw a French documentary of anthropologists visiting the Shuar with a head. Every Shuar they asked answered that the head was false, it didn't have the required sewn lips. The younger generation did not do it anymore, but an older man (40s, 50s, 60s?) remembered the process. They blamed outsiders on doing fake heads for selling. So maybe the replica heads are not made by Shuars but enterprising Ecuadorians.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.58.3.170 (talkcontribs) 08:05, 10 January 2005.
