Heavy metal music in Iran

Although there is no definite sound which all Iranian metal bands follow, there has been definite influence from thrash and heavy metal to extreme black metal. Heavy metal music emanating from Iran is often referred to as "Iranian metal" or "Persian metal".

Some bands such asArsames "Aryan Spirits" "Midgard" have patriotic lyrics referring to the aryanism in history of Iran.
