[edit] Story
Players take on the role of a peace-keeper in the International Council. The game begins with a terrorist attack captured live on a rolling-news TV station. The plot follows on from this attack and the International Council's attempt to thwart a dangerous dictator with an advanced nuclear cache. Along the way, one uses one's flying and fighting skills to tackle a range of airborne enemies including a smuggling boss and a Rogue Federation Admiral.[3]
[edit] Gameplay
Heatseeker is an aerial combat game that pits players against a variety of airborne opponents. Players are equipped with modern military hardware and a choice of weapons. The game offers players access to over 30 jets and 40 different weapons. Amongst the planes on offer are classics like the F-15 Eagle, the modern F-35 Lightning II, the record-breaking SR-71 Blackbird and other futuristic aircraft, as well.[4]
Heatseeker has over 30 flyable jets each with 35 different control parameters. Each of the game's planes has different handling capabilities based upon their weight, engine thrust and afterburner effectiveness.[5]
Missions take place over the US, the Caribbean and even Antarctica. Heatseeker has a display feature called ImpactCam. ImpactCam allows the player to follow the progression of a missile once it is fired, through several camera angles. Environments are destructible meaning players can blow up bridges, airports, docks, military bases. The game offers players the choice between first and third person viewpoints.[6]
