Heartbeat is a song written and performed originally by Buddy Holly. It reached number 30 in the UK singles chart twice for Holly, once in January 1959, and again in April 1960 (re-issue). It was also a minor hit on the Billboard Hot 100.
Actor Nick Berry sung a cover version in 1992 taken from the popular UK TV series of the same name. The song reached number two on the UK Charts. The British Rock n Roll band Showaddywaddy also had a hit with the song in the 70's, reaching number 7 in the UK singles chart in September 1975. Cilla Black released her version of the song that same year.
