"He Said, She Said" is going to be a single from Ashley Tisdale's debut album, Headstrong. It was co-written by top songwriter/producer Jonathan "J.R." Rotem (Britney Spears, Destiny's Child, Rihanna), Evan "Kidd" Bogart (Rihanna), and Ryan "Alias" Tedder (Jennifer Lopez). Tisdale sings as two different people from a boy and a girl perspective. The song leaked in full on December 10. Ashley's first solo album will be released on February 6, 2007. She performs the song before release at shows of High School Musical the Concert. The video was filmed on January 25, 2007. However, as of April 2007, the video has yet to be released.
The song was released as a single on iTunes on December 19, 2006 alongside "Headstrong", the title track from her debut album. "He Said She Said" holds some different lyrics then the version leaked on the internet. It debuted on the Billboard Hot 100, even though it had not yet been released to US retail radios. It was released to U.S. Radios in February 2007, before "Be Good To Me" was released since "He Said She Said" was originally going to be first single. But the music video for "He Said She Said" has been pushed off and now "Be Good To Me" is the first official single.
There are currently three different versions of this song:
- The first one leaked on the internet and that Ashley performs on the HSM tour. It is not as explicit as the original album version, yet not as heavily edited as the Radio Disney version. It is the only version of the song to not see any official release.
- The one released on iTunes as a single and also played on Radio Disney
- A more mature version (The official version on Tisdale's album and used for the music video)

[edit] Music Video
The video for "He Said She Said" was filmed on January 25, 2007. In the video, Tisdale is in a high school. She sees a cute guy, and falls for him. She starts to do silly things to impress him. Then Tisdale enters a classroom, but the classroom is actually a nightclub. She starts having a dance-off with the mean girls from her school, and at the end, dances with the cute boy. The video for "He Said, She Said" is directed by Chris Applebaum. It's unknown when the video will now premiere, it was due to be first shown on TRL on the 7th February but took longer to edit than first anticipated and was held back. It was due to premiere the following week but it was never shown. It is now confirmed by Warner Bros. that they are holding back the "He Said, She Said" video until after the premiere of a new official "Be Good to Me" Music Video.
