Haughton Le Skerne

Haughton Le Skerne is a village in the borough of Darlington and the ceremonial county of County Durham, England. It is situated to the north east of Darlington. Home to the world famous Haughton Cricket Club who produced excellent players such as Tom "Brick Wall" Smith, and "Stormin" Norman Sturman. Other notable members include Gary "G" McGuire and his renound father Jeff "Jerry" McGuire and stephen "ace" allenby. Haughtons best young cricketer is Danny "Hit for six" McGuire.
Haughton -le-Skerne was adopted into the borough of Darlington in 1930 Entering the village from the west St Andrews church built approx 1125 AD stands on raised ground to the north of the skene, the windows of the church range fromNorman to Victorian,original fresco paintings adorn the walls thepews are Jacobean and church records dating back to 1569 are kept in DurhamCounty record office.
