[edit] Additional precise sub-categries for growing number of Orthodox rabbis
- All discussion about the following is at: Category talk:Orthodox rabbis#More precise system based on recognized names.
There are now more precise categories.
Thus under Category:Orthodox rabbis there is now some new sub-categories using KNOWN and accepted non-controversial academic and ecyclopedic nomenclature. (If anyone would like to indicate that a rabbi is presently ALIVE then just put in the Category:Living people and automatically the reader knows that the rabbi is with us!):
- Category:Modern Orthodox rabbis (for rabbis identified with Modern Orthodox Judaism)
- Category:Religious Zionist Orthodox rabbis (for rabbis identified with the BROAD Religious Zionist Movement)
-
- Category:Haredi rabbis
- Category:Haredi rabbis in Israel (all Haredi Judaism non-Hasidic and some Sephardic rabbis in Israel go here)
- Category:Hasidic rabbis in Israel (sub-category of Haredi rabbis in Israel and a place for rabbis associated with Hasidic Judaism)
- Category:Haredi rabbis in the United States (all Haredi Judaism non-Hasidic and some Sephardic rabbis in the United States go here)
- Category:Hasidic rabbis in the United States (sub-category of Haredi rabbis in the United States and a place for rabbis associated with Hasidic Judaism)
- Category:Haredi rabbis in Europe
- Category:Haredi rabbis in Israel (all Haredi Judaism non-Hasidic and some Sephardic rabbis in Israel go here)
- Category:Haredi rabbis
-
- Category:Chabad-Lubavitch rabbis (for rebbes and rabbis of Chabad-Lubavitch)
- If there is any doubt, or if a rabbi cannot be clearly placed into one of the above, he should remain in Category:Orthodox rabbis.
The above should go a long way towards sorting out the ever-growing list of Orthodox rabbis of all shades and parties etc. IZAK 09:34, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
