Harris Radio is an internet radio station started in the summer of 2002 by Pete Harris.

Pete started Harris Radio because he realized that he was not hearing music that he liked on the airwaves in NYC. He had begun to go out and see live music around the Big Apple and he soon learnt that it was nearly impossible for the independent acts that he was seeing to get their music heard on mainstream radio.

He came across Live365, a company that makes a business out of hosting internet radio, and signed up. The first playlist went live at the beginning of August 2002.

Since then, Pete has also launched Indie Sounds NY - a monthly publication covering the NYC indie music scene. Also, he created GigApple - an online gig calendar for indie music in NYC.
