This article says that Russell's family moved to the United States in 1933. IMDB says they moved in 1919. Can someone confirm the facts? MK 17:44, 19 May 2004 (UTC)
I have a source that says he had "never been far from his blue-collar neighborhood in Cambridge" before WWII, making immigration in 1933 unlikely. In addition, the same source indicates he enlisted 3 months after Pearl Harbor, not on December 8. My source is "Transformations, A History of Boston University" by Kathleen Kilgore" The above is on pages 214 - 216 and, according the the foot note is based on a personal interview with Russell on 14 June 1988.
