Is it Quinzel or Quinzelle? I've seen both. Anyone got the official name, just for my pointless peace of mind?
- What about Duela Dent?
I guess she should be under Harlequin (comics) as thats how she spelled her name. I suppose there should be a pointer to that fact in the article though. Hueysheridan 02:20, 19 July 2005 (UTC)
- Also the first appearance is all wrong. She first appeared in the first few episodes of the Batman Animated Series, which was in the early 1990s long before the character was brought into the main DC universe continuity in Batman: Harley Quinn in 1999, which is not even her first comic book apearance as she appeared in the various Batman Animated titles long before that also.
- And shouldnt Dini and Timm's multi-award winning Mad Love graphic novel rate some mention here? it was where Harley's origin was originally presented after all, and it does bear the distinction of the only animated style comic that was actually adapted into an TV episode. [edit] Thank you
I'd like to thank the guy (or girl, whatever) who wrote
"...bottomless pits are a notoriously unreliable means of death in fiction."
You just made my day. ;)

[edit] The Harley/Ivy question
There's been several incidents of people removing any references to a potential lesbian relationship between Harley and Ivy from both this entry and the Poison Ivy entry over the past couple of days. Look, whether you like it or not, the fact is that there's been several subtle references suggesting the possibility of this relationship in canon. (see: Joker/Mask, the Harley Quinn one-shot, the Harley Quinn monthly series, the Harley and Ivy miniseries by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm) So knock it off.
- Furthermore, it appears that the same anonymous editor keeps replacing any reference to lesbian subtext between the two with references to Batman Adventures #16, where the partnership is ended by Harley. However, (though I doubt the anonymous editor is even reading this page, as they don't seem to be able to defend their edits) that does not mean that the relationship never existed, or even that the partnership will remain dissolved. Removing references to the subtext is censorship, no matter how opposed to it you are. Erisian23 19:09, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

- It's practically text at this point. In Gotham Girls #3, there's a series of captions that read, "But love changes everything. That's all she wanted--his love, his approval. Not that she usually got it. Not like from Ivy". This last panel is accompanied by a panel depicting Ivy brushing Harley's hair in Ivy's cell at Arkham (with some guy across the hall gawking). --SHODAN 23:05, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

- Agreed. (I loved that series) It seems that our anonymous censor seems to think that because Harley has sworn to kill Ivy in ONE comic, that it means the relationship is over. They don't seem to take into account that the Joker has sworn to/tried to kill Harley (on more than one occasion!) or that Ivy has broken off the partnership as well. (in the first issue of the "Harley and Ivy" miniseries) And none of these incidents had long-term effects, so why should "Batman Adventures" #16 be any different? Oh yes, because then they can go "OMFG! There is no such thing as Harley/Ivy everevereverever because Harley hates her now and it never happened anyway and you're making it up!" At least that's what I'm getting from those edits... Erisian23 23:16, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

OH SHUT UP! Listen, just face the fact, Harley doesnt have a thing for Ivy! And even if she did, like it was mentioned, their not even friends anymore! It said so in the last comic she was in! So NYA!
- Dude, your totally right. People, listen to this person!
-
- I know right!
Anonymous edits with a grade school attitude, how utterly common. Read the facts, kid, look at the citations, and leave your opinions and foolishness out of the wiki. This isn't 4chan or some silly message board, this is a place of collective intellect and education. The fact remains that there is evidence of a lesbian relationship between Harley and Ivy. Don't mess with someone's posts, lest someone figure out who you are and decide to edit your boy band entries. Xerial 00:28, 02 November 2006 (PST)
- And also read the comics being cited as references to the possible Harley/Ivy relationship. Which were written by Paul Dini, and somehow I think he has a better handle on the characters than the people who keep vandalising the article do.86.4.211.159 18:52, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Clean-up
This needs to be cleaned up, and the information on the tv and comic versions should be separated (info on Harley from the TV show is in her comics section). --DrBat 00:54, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- Wouldn't know where to start, but, yes, the current formatting is very poor. --Liontamer 17:22, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
Made some changes so that the information from the TV series (and tAS-derived comics) are in that section, and the DCU section is only for DCU canon. I put a (possibly-too-extensive) summary of Batman: Harley Quinn in, but I wonder if more storylines from the Harley Quinn series should be referenced?

"Dr. Quinzelle" is listed on the credits list. Does anyone know her role in the game?--GORE-ILLA 03:09, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Religion
Why is Harley listed in a category of Jewish characters? I see no proof of her Judaism.
- Is Harley Jewish? She was once categorized as being Jewish.
when, is there any reference in the comic or show? Is Quinzel jewish--The Judge 21:48, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- Well, that dialect is typically assigned to 'New York Jews' but that doesn't necessarily -make- her Jewish.
-
-
- Does anybody have a copy of Batman Adventures Holiday Special they can check? The reference provided by Mad Jack doesn't meet reliable sources criteria. CovenantD 16:36, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

10-22-06 2:23 am; I'm going to put it in trivia that she is probably jewish because there are many references in the original show and the comics that she is jewish [the first episode she's in has her say "oy", a common yidish phrase, along with other examples I can't recall right now.]
[edit] Infobox
In any cas is dumb to have the one from comics at the top and not at the section where the comics version is covered.--The Judge 07:14, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Changed appearance in "The Batman"
Surely it's a matter of opinion whether her character design in "The Batman" is relatively unchanged? In my opinion (according to the picture included in the article) her character design has been massively changed(and for the worse), keeping only the jester theme and the red/black/white colour scheme. But then again, I suppose this fits in with the uniformly awful (again, my opinion) character designs in "The Batman".
- Her design is not that bad. It looks better on animation.
