Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is a movie adapted from the book of the same name. It is the fourth film in the Harry Potter film franchise and the 8th largest box-office grosser of all time. The film is directed by Mike Newell and reprises most of the cast from the previous three films and includes newcomers to screen Katie Leung & Stanlisev Ivaneski and newcomers to the franchise Clémence Posey, Robert Pattinson, Miranda Richardson, Brendan Gleeson, Frances de la Tour & Ralph Fiennes as the evil Lord Voldemort. The movie starts out with Harry and the Wealeys going to the Quidittch World Cup where a surprise attack from the Death Eaters spurs someone to raise the Dark Mark, the sign of Voldemort, into the sky for the first time in thirteen years. When Harry goes back to school, he is in for more surprises, as he is entered illegally into the deadly Triwizard Tournament. His friends suspect that it is a plot to kill him, but little do they know that when he gets through the three tasks of the Tournament, he has the greatest surprise of all waiting fot him...

There has been some uproar from fans about the cutting out of most of the book from the movie, as the book was over 600 pages long and the movie only 2 ¹/₂ hours long, but fans generally agree that the movie was good in keeping the spirit of the book alive.
