From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is the Harvard University coat of arms. The blazon is Gules, three open books proper inscribed VE RI TAS. Veritas is Latin for "truth".

Harvard University first created a version of its arms in 1644, but it was lost over the years. It was revived with some changes for the university's 1836 bicentennial[1]. This version has been in use for over 150 years, so copyright over it has subsequently expired. However, its use as a trademark is still protected by law. User:Jacobolus has provided this rendering.

Note: the version of this logo currently in use at the Harvard University page is a rougher-looking version, used on official business cards (or at least that's where I got pdf of it)
