Hart Mountain
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hart Mountain is a fault-block mountain, in Lake County, Oregon. It lies about 30 miles to the east of Lakeview.
It is sometimes confused with a mountain range, but is more properly described as one mountain. The two highest peaks are Warner Peak at 8017 ft (2444 m) and Hart Peak at 7724 ft (2354 m).
At the base of the mountain lies the Warner Wetlands reserve, home to waterfowl and other wildlife. A trail leads half a mile into the wetlands to a 'hide'. The top of the mountain is part of the Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge, with pronghorn antelope and bighorn sheep.
