While waiting for a position in the Los Angeles Police Department which will allow him to marry his Mexican girlfriend and bring her to the USA, Jim spends his time hanging out with his best friend, Mike Alonzo (Freddy Rodriguez). Mike is feeling pressure from his longtime girlfriend, Sylvia (Eva Longoria) to either get a job or get out.
