Harryville is a loyalist district of Ballymena.In the 1990s Harryville achieved worldwide infamy because of the "Harryville Protest".It was a violent protest which occurred weekly at the Roman Catholic chapel in the middle of Harryville.This was a response to the ban placed on Orange Order parades in the nearby Catholic village of Dunloy.The late loyalist and ex UVF convicted murderer Billy McCaughey was alleged to be the organiser of the protest.
