Harry Wheeler
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Harry Eugene Wheeler (March 3, 1858 - October 9, 1900) was an American 19th Century Major League Baseball player who hailed from Versailles, Indiana. Harry began his career with the Providence Grays as a pitcher, but within the next two years, he had been converted to the outfield. A well travelled player, he played for 9 different teams in three leagues.[1] He ended his career in the failed Union Association in 1884, including a four game stint as player-manager for the Kansas City Unions, losing all of them.[2]
At the age of 42, Harry passed away after contracting Syphilitic Locomotor Ataxia[3], and was laid to rest at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.[4]
