Harry A. Franck
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Harry A. Franck was a popular travel author during the first half of the 20th century.
He wrote a number of books about his travels around the world, ranging from post-WWI Germany (Vagabonding in a Changing Germany) to early-1920's China (Roving Through Southern China). His writings were significant for their focus on the common person rather than official statistics and pronouncements.
He served for many years in the U.S. military -- his stay there extended by superiors who helped him evade attempts to muster him out due to age.
