Harriet Sims

Lieutenant Harriett Sims, USN (played by Karri Turner) is a character in the JAG TV series.

Harriett first appeared in the second season episode "Crossing the Line" as an Ensign aboard the USS Seahawk where she had replaced her future husband Lieutenant Bud Roberts as the ships public affairs officer. Later in the season she transferred to JAG headquarters, attached to the administrative staff and she began her relationship with Bud. Despite some last minute second thoughts Harriett marries Bud in the penultimate episode of the third season "Wedding Bell Blues". Navy regulations state that married couples cannot serve together however Admiral Chegwidden pulls some strings and has Harriett transferred to the department of the Inspector General while remaining attached to the JAG headquarters administrative staff.

Harriet and Bud have five children together A.J Roberts (Named after Admiral Chegwidden), Sarah Roberts (named after Lt.Col Sarah MacKenzie) who tragically died shortly after being born, James Kirk Roberts (named after Captain James T Kirk) and unnamed twins towards the end of the series.

Harriett was promoted twice during the series run first to Lieutenant j.g after serving two years as an Ensign in the fourth season episode "Nobody's Child" and secondly to full Lieutenant in the sixth season episode "Lifeline"
