Haroonabad (Urdu: ہارون آباد) is a tehsil (Subdivision ) of Bahawalnagar District, in the Punjab Province of Pakistan.
Punjabi is the language of the city, and is the most widely spoken language in the whole district, although Urdu and English are becoming more popular with younger generations.
It is located in the south of Bahawalnagar on a ditsnace of 50 KM. The population of the city is round about 500,000.
Haroonabad is one of the small & oldest cities of Pakistan.
Most of the people are farmers owning small pieces of land. Literacy rate is very low. The weather of the city is very hot during summer and a bit relaxing during winter. and one of the most famous thing of this city is that this city is the city of ministers.............and now this city is progressing by leaps and bounds...
The main thing in this city is HATIF WELFARE SOCIETY presided by Rana Humayun, a very active personality. And the main thing is that all the people of the city try their best to finance and sponsor this society.
And with the help of the great people of haroon abad and from other part of the district the society is building a hospital in haroon abad.they have purchased the land,and the counstruction is due this year.To contact society you can call 92-63-2252525
The people here are really very nice and try their best to help others in any matter. Haroonabad is famous for it's cotton quality.This area is also part of Cholistan desert but most of the area is arrigated.

This city is situated in east of Pakistan. In its east, there is the border of India, in its west Chishtian (a well known progressing city) is located. and Bahawalnagar lies in its north side, & it is being bounded by Fortabbas in its south.
