Harold H. Swingler Commander Item Company, 3/505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, U.S. Army
KIA D-Day (June 6th, 1944) while leading an attack on a German unit firing mortar rounds on the 505th from just south of Ste. Mere Eglise on hill 20.
During Operation Husky, while still a Lieutenant Swingler surprised a German Tiger tank and single handedly killed the entire crew with a grenade.
