Harm (William Hayes) is a fictional character, a supervillain in the DC Comics universe.
[edit] Fictional Biography
Harm first appeared in Young Justice #4, in which he attacked Arrowette a female Archer Superheroine, almost killing her. However he decides not to finish her, and tells her to spread the word about him to the other teenage heroes.
Harm's real name is William Hayes, he was adopted into the family of Greta Hayes (Secret). During his teenage years, he somehow came into contact with a demon called "Buzz" who told him of a way to gain supernatural strength through sacrificing his sister. Years later he actually does this, by putting on cerimonial face paint and dropping a radio into his sister's bath, electrocuting her to death.
Months later he engaged Young Justice in combat for the fist time, making quick work of Arrowette, Wonder Girl, Superboy, and his newly empowered sister, now under the name Secret. However when the police arrived on the scene, he fled. The next day, while Young Justice was on a Secret mission, Harm snuck into the YJ Head Quarters and disembowled the Red Tornado. He then proceeded to reprogram him and place a bomb inside him. By the time Young Justice came back, Harm and the Red Tornado were gone. Robin quickly deduced where they had gone, and set out for St. Swithin's Cathedral to rescue the Pope, whom Harm and the Tornado were about to attack.
Young Justice Arrived on the scene, and thanks to Robin, succesfully bested Harm in combat. Disarming his bomb and saving the Pope. However, Harm's morale had not withered, he returned to the suburban home of his parents (where he still lived) to relax and think of more plans. He could not make those plans however, because his father (who was scared Harm would kill him and his wife) was waiting with a pistol, which he used to kill his son.
[edit] After Death
Death could not stop Harm from further villainy. He returned shortly after his demise, using his sister Greta as a portal from the after life. He briefly battled Young Justice again before being sent back from whence he came.
Harm appeared again much later in the series during a crossover with Dark Horse Comics' Spyboy. He had formed an alliance with the villainess Ani Mae, who was an unwilling pawn in his plan. Harm planned to swallow Tokyo and Young Justice into Hell, through a Hell-hole. He planned to cause enough chaos above the hole to awaken it, and by doing so, awakening all the others, swallowing the entire earth into hell! His plans were thwarted by his Sister and Spyboy, who thrust Harm's own sword into his chest, once again erradicating him.
Harm appeared one last time at the end of the Young Justice series. He had entered into his father's body (who was sentenced to death for murdering his son) and was able to overshadow his father's consciousness with his own for a limited time. He used this to make his sister think that her father no longer loved her. However this did not affect Secret, she inlisted the help of Lobo to help her break her father out of prison. Shortly after this she joined Darkseid, and her and her father relocated to his planet, Apokalips. While they were there, Harm overshadowed his father for the last time, making him jump into one of the fire pits killing them both. Harm has never been seen or heard from since.
