Harley-Davidson XA (Experimental Army) flat-twin shaft drive motorcycle made by Harley-Davidson for the US Army during World War II. The reason it has a flat-twin rather than the usual V-twin engine si that it is a copy of a BMW motorcycle (BMW R-12. R-71 or R-75M).[1][2][3]
