[edit] About Hari
Smooth-talking vet Hari Prasad couldn’t believe it when he bumped into old university pal Paddy Kirk in the Dales.
The two men had been firm friends at university but a business disagreement meant they failed to keep in contact. However, deciding the whole situation should be treated as water under the bridge, Hari did his best to make peace with Paddy.
And it couldn’t have come at a better time for his feckless friend. After the death of Sandra and Craig Briggs’ flock supposedly at the hands of Paddy, the Emmerdale practice had lost customers and looked to be going under.
Promising to bring in new business and help recover the old clients too, Hari convinced Paddy to let him become his new business partner. Reluctantly Paddy agreed and the two men started to build the business back up.
Meanwhile, Hari was catching the eyes of lusty females all over the village. Dawn Woods and Toni Daggert were particularly impressed with what they saw and Toni started a flirting campaign to woo Hari.
But Hari wasn’t all that interested. He already had a life of his own away from the village and wasn’t in a hurry to get into any romantic entanglements there. But when he found out that Paddy had fallen for feisty Toni, Hari offered to help him get the girl.
He paved the way for Paddy by quizzing Toni but only succeeded in making the keen barmaid even more enchanted by him. With Hari around, Toni wasn’t going to look twice at Paddy and it looked like he’d inadvertently messed everything up.
He was also getting into arguments at the surgery with Jo. Appalled by her unsuitable work attire and worried about her attitude, Hari tried to take Jo to task – but just succeeded in making matters worse.
However, there was more trouble on the way in the form of sexy Perdita Hyde-Sinclair. After much flirtation between the pair, Hari thought he’d finally seduced the lusty lady when she invited him to spend a quiet afternoon with her.
But, it transpired she’d merely been trying to stir up jealousy in her feckless and adulterous husband Grayson. Although disappointed, Hari was kind to Perdy and the pair still seem to have a special bond.
Meanwhile, the hunky vet has been throwing himself into his work, but with his ruthless approach to business being in stark contrast to Paddy’s community spirit, can the partners make a success? And will Hari's unrequited love for Perdy ever be requited?
