From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hareskovby, or Hareskov By, is a small town within the municipality of Værløse, on the island of Seeland, Denmark. Hareskovby has its own school and library within the Værløse municipality.

Many of the roads in Hareskovby are named after plants and flowers such as 'rose', 'clover' (Rosevej; Kløvervej in danish with the danish suffix -vej for 'road').

Hareskovby is situated south and west of Hareskov woods. The name of Hareskov itself is related to the prefix 'Harre' meaning stone alter. The woods are used as a centre of recreation north of Copenhagen. Mountainbiking, horseriding, walks and role-playing ('Dungeons and Dragons' or 'viking' role playing) for adults and children are popular. The woods are renowned for their natural beauty and ease of access.
