Harcourt Road (Chinese: 夏愨道) is a major road on the north side of Hong Kong Island running from Wan Chai to Central, including Admiralty in Hong Kong.

[edit] History

Built after World War II, Harcourt Road was once a waterfront promenade and to easy congestion on Hong Kong Island. With Gloucester Road and Connaught Road Central, this part of the major highway running through Hong Kong will be replaced as a major thoroughfare by a new road to be constructed as a part of the Victoria Harbour reclamation phase 3.

The road was built on the former Admiralty Dock in Central. After the reclamation of the dock, the road built and was named after H. J. Harcourt of British Navy who received Hong Kong from Japan after World War II.
