Harald Eia

Harald Meldal Eia (born 9 February 1966 in Bærum) is a Norwegian comedian. Together with Bård Tufte Johansen, he has been author of, and participated in, several successful NRK comedy TV series, such as Lille Lørdag (1995), Åpen Post (1998-2002), Ut I Vår Hage (2003), Team Antonsen (2004) and Tre brødre som ikke er brødre (2005), as well as the radio comedy shows Herreavdelingen (1997) and Tazte priv (2004-2005). He has also performed stand-up comedy and theatresports and had supporting roles in Norwegian films, including Detektor (2000) and United (2003).

Although his humour is considered intelligent, he has raised controversy several times. One example is the "skrukk-stunt", where he, during a parody of sexual education television discussed and explored the area of skin between the anus and scrotum (the perineum) on national television.

He is the only Norwegian comedian subject to a fictional biography: Harald Eia: comedian and humanitarian, an uauthorised biography of Harald Meldal Eia by fellow comedian Yngve Skomsvoll.
