Harakas

Harakas is a village of municipality of Asterousia in the county of Heraklion in Crete, Greece with population of 1000 habitants.The distance from Heraklion ,the largest city in the Crete is about 45 km to the south.The village lies to the foothill of Asterousia mountain, the south line of the Crete island.Behind the mountain and after 15 km from Harakas you can see Libyan sea.The more characteristic showplace is a great rock(haraki), 35m high, with a temple and a castle.Image:Xaraki.jpga view of haraki and hero's tomp
