Hanwell, New Brunswick

Hanwell (2001 pop.: 3,470) is a Canadian rural community in York County, New Brunswick.

Hanwell is both a community and local service district immediately southwest of Fredericton and functions primarily as a suburb/exurb for that city.

Formerly a farming community, two large residential subdivisions were constructed in Hanwell in the 1970s. Hanwell is the location of Kingswood Park, a large entertainment centre and golf course.

Hanwell is made of a many subdivisions including but not limited by: - Deerwood - Starlite - CobbleStone - Eaglewood - Sommerset

And included in the LSD (SEPARATE FROM FREDERICTON) is an attractive cottage area known as Yoho late. This lake retreat is also the location for the Boy Scouts of Canada in the Fredericton area.
