Hans Dobbertin

Hans Dobbertin, (April 17, 1952 - February 2, 2006) was a German cryptographer who is best known for his cryptanalysis of the MD4 hash function. He was member of the German Federal Office for Information Security (Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik, BSI) and professor at the Ruhr University in Bochum.

Hans Dobbertin, of Eldagsen near Springe in Germany is a historian on the subject of the Pied Piper. He wrote a treatise on the subject in the Niedersächsisches Jahrbuch für Landesgeschichte Band 27, in 1955, later in Quellensammlung zu Hamelner Rattenfängersage in Niederdeutschen Volkskunde Band 3 1970.
