Hanpen is a living breathing Japanese fish cake. Like Jelly Jiggler, he was turned down by many people (including Don Patch). He was to be eaten as lunch for a boy, only to fall in a river and wash up in a forest, were he is raised by the animals and soon gains a body and martial art skills. He, along with the rest of the 3rd Era Chromedome Empire are thrown into suspended animation for 100 Years.

Hanpen was the former A-Block leader of the 3rd Era Chromedome Empire, aswell as the most powerful of commanders. He levels all of Jelly Jiggler's amusment park home and replacing it with his own, improved amusement park. Jelly Jiggler, driven by the need to avenge his leveled home, faces Hanpen head on, only to be defeated in one blow. Jelly Jiggler and Bo-bobo fuse into Jellybobo who defeats Hanpen and destroys his amusement park, avenging Jelly Jiggler's.
[edit] The Nonsense Nine
During the fight against Halon Oni, Hanpen appears on the arm of an attacking, giant Baby Gasser in a martial arts outfit. He joins the team and fights Halon Oni, but is easily defeated by Halon Oni just as he is defeated by Baby Gasser. Halon Oni transforms and attemps to kill Don Patch. Hanpen, despite Don Patch's cruelty to him in the past, Hanpen throws himself in front of the attack, carving his head into a crab-shape. Hanpen reveals to Don Patch how he made him feel in the past. Don Patch, seeing Hanpen's selfless act of protecting the man who hated him changed Don Patch, not only emotionly, but physically into Super Patch who avenges Hanpen by defeating Halon Oni. After Hydrate's defeat, Hanpen leaves, never to be seen again, or so it seemed.

With his former boss betraying his allies, Hanpen joins The Shinsetsu Nonsense Nine to fight the new threat.

Hanpen was raised and trained by forest animals. He was hated and turned down by Don Patch in the past until taking a blow from Halon Oni for him and revealing how Don Patch made him feel, changing his personality and becoming Hanpen's first and closest friend.
