HanesBrands Inc. (NYSE: HBI) is a clothing company based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina which employs 50,000 people internationally. [1] On September 6, 2006 they were spun off by the Sara Lee Corporation.

HanesBrands Inc. also owns several other clothing brands, which are Hanes (its largest brand), Champion (its second largest brand), Playtex (its third largest brand), Bali, Just My Size, Barely There, Wonderbra, L’eggs, C9 by Champion, Duofold, Beefy-T, Outer Banks, Sol y Oro, Rinbros, Zorba and Ritmo.

HanesBrands has companies in various parts of Europe and Eastern Europe, including the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, France and Spain.

HanesBrands have had a declining revenue over the past ten years with the decline of sales of hoisery. In 1995 their revenue from hoisery was US$895 million but in 2006 the hoisery sales only reached $290 million. In an interview with the Associated Press, vice-president of HanesBrands, Romaine Sargent, said that the cause of this was because of "The casualization of the workplace, it is not as strict as before." The company's two main competitors are Fruit of the Loom and Jockey International.
