- in Football (soccer), the goal scored by Diego Maradona during the 1986 FIFA World Cup quarter final between Argentina and England is referred to as the Hand of God goal.
- in Football (American), the "Hand of God" game occurred when the Washington Redskins defeated the Dallas Cowboys in 2006 by blocking a last second field goal.
