Talk:Hampstead and Highgate (UK Parliament constituency)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Not clear from article's text whether the constituency is in the UK and represented in the UK parliament. (Maybe it is Scottish? Represented in the Scottish Parliament?) Laurel Bush 10:55, 18 Mar 2005 (UTC).
- I rather feel that the reference to "London Borough of Camden" rather gives it away. By convention and practice 'Parliament' refers to the Westminster one unless otherwise stated too. --Vamp:Willow 11:58, 18 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Seems to me the article's sense of convention is a bit London-centric. Not very informative for anyone who isnt already familiar with UK, European and Westminster politics. And "parliamentary" is now sometimes used in the UK to mean "of one, some or all of the parliaments of the UK, Scotland and the EU". Laurel Bush 12:09, 18 Mar 2005 (UTC).
Also I get from the article the impression that the parliament in Westminster might by a sort of London-villages possession. I do feel "UK" or "United Kingdom" should be prominent in the article's intitial sentence or paragraph. Laurel Bush 15:50, 18 Mar 2005 (UTC).
